The team at Energy Outlook he biomass is the precursor to all the fossil fuels. But it took millions of years for each strand of grass or each twig of wood to get converted to coal. Similarly, it took a time of thousands of years for the dead marine animals buried under the seabed to get converted to petroleum.
Modern humans have long realized that they can process usable fuels from biological sources. Algal-sourced artificially manufactured fuel oils and even plant-sourced biodiesel and other fuel oils may be extracted out of plants like jatropha and soybean.
Engines need to be lightly modified for suiting the use of plant and algal-sourced artificially prepared fuel oils. Similarly, work is always on for the betterment of wood-derived charcoal-like fuel sources that may replace the purpose of coal.
The fuel industry needs to stay at its heels regarding various updates in the field of biofuels. For this very purpose, the biomass energy articles of Energy Outlook magazine are fine tuned.
